Among the 11 acts competing in the competition’s final, Sydnie gained the most public votes with her mesmerizing rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” This earned her the prize of £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance, a prestigious charity event held at the Royal Albert Hall in London and attended by members of the Royal Family.

Sydnie Christmas, hailing from England, worked at a gym’s front desk before her breakthrough on BGT. She’s a seasoned professional singer, having graced theater stages and cruise ships in her career. Prior to her BGT stint, she was featured on an episode of the London-based reality show Stage School, as reported by The Sun.

Her journey on the competition began back in April when she wowed the audience and judges with her rendition of “Tomorrow” from AnnieThe 2024 judges panel, which included Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli, were so impressed with her audition that she received a standing ovation from all four judges. Amanda Holden was especially impressed and pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending Sydnie straight to the semi-finals.
