Magalli Jimenez’s world was turned upside down when her 13-month-old daughter, Ava Skye, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of muscular cancer. Despite the devastating news, Jimenez remained strong and optimistic, hoping that her daughter would overcome the disease. After undergoing numerous rounds of chemotherapy, Skye was declared in remission, bringing immense joy to her family. However, their happiness was short-lived, as the cancer relapsed just a few months later. This time, the doctors delivered the crushing news that the cancer was resistant to treatment, and Skye’s chances of survival were slim.
Jimenez was determined to make her daughter’s remaining days as comfortable and happy as possible. She placed Skye in hospice care and focused on creating cherished memories with her little girl. Together, they worked on completing Skye’s bucket list, which included singing her favorite song one last time.
In a heart-wrenching video, Skye, who was barely able to stand, sang “I Love You” to her mother, looking into her eyes with a sweet and innocent smile. Jimenez captured the poignant moment on camera, and it has since been shared on social media, touching the hearts of everyone who has seen it.
Skye passed away on August 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving mother. Jimenez was left with a broken heart, but she has vowed to keep her daughter’s memory alive and to continue living for her.
